  1. MICBUTTON APP

MicButton is a local-network utility that allows an iPhone or Apple Watch to control the microphone mute state of a paired Mac.

Information handled by MicButton

MicButton does not require a Nedrelow account. The App does not include Nedrelow-operated analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

MicButton does not record, listen to, transcribe, store, or upload microphone audio. It controls and reads the mute state made available by the selected microphone on your Mac, but it does not access the content of your conversations.

When you pair MicButton with a Mac, the App handles:

  • The Mac’s local-network address;

  • A randomly generated pairing token;

  • The name and confirmed mute state of the paired Mac or microphone;

  • App preferences, such as confirmation-sound settings; and

  • Limited operational information needed to send and confirm local commands.

Pairing information is stored locally on your devices using Apple Keychain. Preferences and the last confirmed microphone state may also be stored locally on your devices.

Local-network communication

MicButton sends authenticated commands and status responses directly between your iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac over your local Wi-Fi network. The Mac may advertise its availability to your other devices using Apple’s local-network discovery technology.

MicButton does not send these commands, pairing details, or microphone status information to Nedrelow servers. MicButton does not operate a cloud backend.

Apple services

Apple processes information related to App Store downloads, purchases, device operation, and any diagnostics you choose to share with Apple according to Apple’s own privacy practices. That information is controlled by Apple and is not collected directly by MicButton.

You can review Apple’s Privacy Policy at:

https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

MicButton data retention and removal

MicButton pairing information remains on your devices until you unpair the App, reset it, or delete it. You can remove locally stored MicButton information by unpairing MicButton and deleting the App from your devices.

If you contact Nedrelow for MicButton support, we use the information you provide to respond to your request, troubleshoot the issue, and maintain appropriate business records.

  1. SECURITY

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.

MicButton uses a randomly generated pairing token to authenticate local commands, and pairing information is stored using Apple Keychain. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your devices, accounts, and local network.

  1. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Nedrelow is based in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
